  1. In a small bowl, combine the whole milk and lemon juice. Allow the mixture to stand at room temperature until thickened, about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  4. Using a fork, cut the butter into the flour mixture until small uniform pieces form.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the thickened milk mixture and vanilla.
  6. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, and gently fold in the apples.
  7. Turn the dough onto the prepared baking sheet and form it into a disc shape, about one inch tall.
  8. Using a chef’s knife, slice the shaped dough into 8 triangles and bake for 10-15 minutes, until just golden. Allow to cool slightly.
  9. Make the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, cinnamon, and clove.
  10. Incorporate the whole milk.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the scones before serving.
